Americares.org for Japanese Survivors

We are inviting patients to donate $50 to www.AmeriCares.org which provides financial support to the Japanese survivors of the tsunami, earthquakes, and nuclear disaster.  As an incentive for donating a minimum of $50, you will receive a $500 discount towards a bi-lateral LASIK procedure.

For patients who donate, EyeCare 20/20 will also match the $50 donation made to www.AmeriCares.org so that the total donation on behalf of the patient is $100.

AmeriCares is a nonprofit disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization which provides immediate response to emergency medical needs, as well as supports long-term humanitarian assistance programs, for all people around the world, irrespective of race, creed or political persuasion.  AmeriCares has developed partnerships here in the US and around the world that ensure that for every dollar you donate to AmeriCares, they can deliver $35 in lifesaving medicines, medical supplies, and humanitarian aid to the people who need it most.

Just bring us your receipt, YOU get the discount, and the people of Japan receive much-needed help.

The Valerie Fund

This March, EyeCare 20/20 will be supporting The Valerie Fund, an organization that provides support for the comprehensive health care of children with cancer and blood disorders. Simply donate $50.00 to The Valerie Fund by clicking here, we’ll match it and you’ll receive $500 off a bi-lateral LASIK procedure*. It’s our way of saying thanks for helping support this worthy cause.

Established in 1976 in memory of nine year old Valerie Goldstein, by her parents Ed and Sue, The Valerie Fund provides state-of-the-art outpatient health care throughout the tri-state area for children with cancer and blood disorders . Patients receive far more than treatment for their physical illnesses, as the philosophy of The Valerie Fund is to treat them emotionally, socially and developmentally, as well as medically.

Lee National Denim Day

In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, EyeCare 20/20 participated in Lee National Denim Day on Friday, October 8, 2010. This grassroots program has raised more than $70 million for breast cancer research. For the fifth year in a row, employees at EyeCare 20/20 dressed in denim in exchange for a donation to the Women’s Cancer Programs of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF). CHARITY: WATER

EyeCare 20/20 partnered with Andy Sernovitz and our friends at Gas Pedal in an attempt to raise $50,000 for Charity: Water. Dr. Silverman donated $100 from every LASIK surgery performed at EyeCare 20/20 from July 14, 2010 to Labor Day in an effort to provide safe drinking water to people around the world. We also encouraged patients scheduled for LASIK at EyeCare 20/20 to do the same in order to qualify for a discount on their upcoming procedure.

Almost a billion people don’t have access to clean, safe drinking water…that’s one in eight. Charity: Water is a non-profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations. They use 100% of public donations to directly fund sustainable water solutions in areas of greatest need. Just $20 can give one person clean water for 20 years. You can donate now here.
