Hey There,
LASIK went awesome, I am so psyched to be able to see perfectly now. The thought of getting my eyes operated on TERRIFIED me, but Dr. Silverman at Team EyeCare 20/20 had everything done in a day, and my eyes corrected in about 10 minutes. Seemed like no big deal after it was done. It happened so fast that I really was speechless afterwards trying to make sense of what just happened. This was the only surgery I have ever been awake for, cause you have to focus your eye, and it was crazy. Slept the rest of the evening, and was good to go the next day. Sweet. I am so glad I did this. Seriously, worth every bit of the emotion and fear. So pumped. No more contacts, no more annoyingness. My brain is just happy to be seeing clear. Thanks to Dr. Silverman, who probably thought I was the biggest sissy ever, Keri, and Amy Stanton for lining this up for me!! Think I am as spruced up with surgeries as I would ever want to be. Wish my knee would heal this fast.

I have had a lot of questions about Lasik and how it has been since I got it. All I can tell people that it was the best decision ever!!! My eyes feel great, no dry contacts during my meet. Also when we were driving to the arena I was reading the freeway signs before everyone else! I absolutely love it!

What a great article! So cool to read up on the other athletes (of which I spent a good amount of time with Chad and Katherine through the dining hall and in the village) and reflect on my experience with you guys and your staff at EyeCare 20/20. My eyes are awesome and like Katherine said in the article, it was so great to be at the Olympics not only with great vision but without having to worry about contacts and glasses and messing with solution. It was a long journey and a wonderful journey for the Women’s hockey team. We had such a great group in Vancouver, and although heartbreaking in the end, it was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life and I know it was very special for all of us. I just wanted to let you know that you were with me on my journey. I always think about how I can see perfectly without glasses or contacts and most often times I find it unbelievable. It has taken a great amount of time, energy and effort of so many people in my life to help me get to the Olympics and you are part of that family for me. Thank you so very much!

Dear Dr. Silverman,
It is just over six months since Dr. Silverman gave me my “new eyes” and I feel like he has performed a miracle. I remember being in the surgery talking to Dr. Silverman and before I knew it, I was done. My LASIK surgery was quick and painless. I was able to watch television later that night and drive the next day with my new sunglasses. I’ve had no problems as a result of the procedure and went from having terrible eyesight to being 20/15.
I am a professional lacrosse player who depends upon my vision to see the fast action on the field at all times. I had more difficulty with contacts on hot days and when dirt got under them and into my eyes. Now I am free of those annoyances. Overall, I was happy with my experience and the surgery. I highly recommend this procedure and the EyeCare 20/20 staff. Now I don’t have to pay for those contact lenses year after year and worry about reaching for my glasses in the morning.

A side note to let you know the our Olympic Team was officially announced today, December 17, 2009. Unfortunately we had to let two players go yesterday but we will have move on four here. As we continue The Queen tour we are on we are getting stronger and smarter out there. We have dropped the last 3 years we’ve played against Canada but we wont give up. The next two contests will be on December 30th in Minneapolis and again January 1st in Ottawa. Thinking of you all as we skate toward Vancouver.

It is just over a year since Dr. Silverman gave me my “new eyes” and I couldn’t be any happier. I still remember being in surgery a total of eleven whole minutes – for both eyes combined. My LASIK surgery was quick and painless. This is not an elaborate procedure. I was watching TV later that night and driving the next day with my funky new sunglasses. I’ve had no problems as a result of the procedure and went from having fairly bad vision in one eye to being 20/15 in both!
I am a sportscaster who depends upon his vision to describe the action on the field and court to the fans at home. My vision and my voice are my livelihood. I would not trust them to just anyone. I researched the market and found Dr. Silverman to be one of the most respected surgeons performing this procedure. The office staff at EyeCare 20/20 is educated and accommodating. Overall, I was very happy with my experience and the surgery. I whole-heartedly recommend this procedure and EyeCare 20/20. I have several prominent sportscaster friends who have also gotten LASIK and they enjoy it as much as I do. No more fuzzy vision in the shower or when driving at night. No more Rec Specs on the basketball court. I wore glasses and contacts for many years. Now, I don’t have to pay for glasses, prescription sunglasses, and constant appointments any longer. What are you waiting for!

It has been 1 year (exactly today) since my LASIK eye surgery at Dr. Silverman’s office. It is unbelievable how having the procedure has changed my life! Not just for my job as an on ice official, but how it has effected my day to day life. It has been unreal how easily accustomed I have become to life without glasses, and not having to fuss with contact lenses. I was especially thankful during allergy season this past spring, not having to deal with itchy, scratchy contact lenses bugging my eyes. Also, for my job I travel alot by airplane, it is so nice to not have to worry about dry contact lenses while in flight. These little things are all issues that I no longer have to worry about. Gone are the days of waking up in the morning and seeing a blurry alarm clock, or poking around trying to find my glasses to watch tv from bed.
I recently completed my one year ‘post-op’ check up with my local optometrist. I am proud to inform you that my eye sight is better then 20/20!! My optometrist commented that I read lines further down the eye chart then I ever had done in all my years getting check ups with him. He was very impressed, and I was equally as gratified knowing I done the right thing by getting LASIK surgery done at EyeCare 20/20!
